Bastiaan K. Coebergh
August 1, 1968 – January 27, 2024
Father. Son. Brother. Friend. Trusted and Beloved Colleague.
Bastiaan devoted his life to his clients and his work. He fiercely and diligently worked in the pursuit of justice and zealously advocated for those he represented. He was a fierce advocate who consistently produced highly effective and well written work product. More impressively as English was not his first language. Bastiaan was extremely competent and successfully practiced in many different areas of law. His work ethic was unmatched, often the first and last person in the office. During his 28-year legal career he became an expert litigator. His attention to detail, friendly and calm demeanor and quick thinking made him unbelievably effective in depositions, oral argument, and perhaps most of all, on cross examination. His absence will weigh heavily on his colleagues and friends at Rosing Davidson Frost, his clients throughout the state, the Park City, Wasatch and Salt Lake legal communities, and most importantly, by his family and longtime companion, Julia. May memories of Bastiaan be a blessing and serve as an example of what a truly genuine and well intentioned person should be, especially in difficult and trying times. The world has lost a truly unique and irreplaceable man and his presence will be deeply missed by many.
